Winning Bid £0.50, P&P £2.00

Have become increasingly obsessed with looking at pretty dresses on eBay. In farcical attempt at demonstrating self-control I have set myself strict parameters:

Nothing above £3
Absolutely nothing with postage of more than £2.50

Believe me, even with these near-Draconian measures in place, one can still find a lot of lovely  cotton creations to keep half a mind on. This, in turn, adds an extra floral frisson to a typical motherly day spent nourishing, cleaning things,  extracting soggy raisins from floorboard cracks and generally hanging on to sanity by a dangling threddle.

Take today, for example (talk about multi-tasking), I made dinner, built a wooden railway for Jake with more than twenty  features within it (eg bridge/turntable/points) and still managed to keep a watchful eye on the bidding war for ‘Must-see Flowary Dresss Kate/Sienna/vintage*’. Unfortunately, the bidder (named ‘Gottabepink’ !?!)  showed none of my self-control and gaily broke the £10 barrier a full 59 seconds before the auction ended.  The hussy!!!

When I am obscenely wealthy, I shall still stick to my  frugal rules as I think it adds a certain structure and fun to online auctions that ‘Gottabepink’-types are missing out on.
When I take a break from shopping at Harvey Nicks, that is.
